Our Instructors

Our camp provides one instructor for every 3 goalies on the ice. A full camp of 18-24 goalies will operate with no less than 3 head coaches with playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate and professional levels. Our other instructors are the best goaltenders in your area - provided by local junior, midget, or high school programs. Below is a listing of the On Target line-up.

Zach Young - Owner & Head Instructor
|

Zach grew up playing hockey in Battle Creek, Michigan. After being named the Central Michigan High School Hockey League's Goaltender of the Year, he went on to play at Colorado State University from 2000-2003. Zach's collegiate career included three trips to the American Collegiate Hockey Association National Tournament. He obtained a B.S. in Health & Exercise Science with a coaching minor from CSU. He is also a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. Zach has a wide variety of coaching experiences including six years as an instructor for the largest goalie school in North America. In addition to running On Target Hockey, Zach also works as a personal trainer and sports performance coach.

Fred Beaubien - Head Instructor

Fred, a native of Quebec was a 1993 draft pick of the Los Angeles Kings. In a professional career spanning over a decade, Fred played in several of the top minor professional leagues in the United States and Europe - including the IHL. Fred recently retired from professional hockey. He lives Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he now coaches youth hockey. Fred has a variety of coaching experiences with literally hundreds of goalies and several teams ranging in ability from novice to elite. Fred brings a wealth of hockey experience and knowledge to On Target Hockey.

Andy Pate - Head Instructor

Andy played youth hockey in Spokane, Washington. After winning two state championships in Spokane, he went on to play three seasons of junior hockey in Port Alberni, British Columbia (Canada) and one in Spokane. Andy has also played 2 years of college at MVCC in Utica, New York and one year at Utica College. He is currently playing at Eastern Washington University in the ACHA. Andy has been instructing goaltenders for several years. Andy's formal areas of study are athletic training and physical therapy. Andy also studies Muay Thai kickboxing as well as nutrition and dietetics.

Aaron Corbiere - Assistant Head Instructor

Aaron is a native of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. Aaron grew up playing AA, AAA, and junior hockey in the Soo and the surrounding areas, including some time in the Canadian junior system. Aaron went on to play for Finlandia University in the NCAA (division 3). He is currently in the process of finishing his degree at Lake Superior State University. Aaron has several years experince coaching hockey and has worked for some of the largest goalie schools in the business.
